Steve is the Computerized Maintenance Management System Administrator and the Training Coordinator for Facilities Management at the University of Arkansas. He also is the manager of the department’s call center and key office. A member of CAPPA and AAFA he serves on the education committees of both organizations, plus Steve is also an APPA certified Supervisor Toolkit facilitator.
After graduation from Bentonville High School in 1978, he studied at the University of Arkansas and graduated in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. In 1996 Steve also received a masters degree, from the University of Arkansas as Master of Education in Educational Leadership. Continuing his education at John Brown University Steve earned a Masters of Art in Ministry in 2006.
Steve served on active duty in the Army Quartermaster Corps for eight years followed by twelve years of service in the Army Reserve. He came to the University in August of 2000 fresh off of an Army Reserve deployment to Bosnia. Remaining in the reserves he served until September of 2003 at which time he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.
His lovely wife Sunny, works at the Wal-Mart Information Support Division in Bentonville. They have two children, Michael, 21 and Carolyn, 20. Michael will graduate from the University of Arkansas in December with a degree in Information Systems and then begin service as an active duty Army lieutenant. Carolyn is a junior at John Brown University majoring in Early Childhood education.
In his “spare” time, Steve serves as a Professional Studies Chaplain for John Brown University and pastor of Trinity Baptist Church in Rogers, Arkansas.
